“Dad was very well known in Catignano: Don Rocco’s vineyards have given work to almost all the families in the village over the years. We took over the reins of the family business starting in 2018, starting a major restructuring in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. The Tenuta Tre Gemme brand is our contribution to the history of the family and of this territory: an exclusive brand, for excellent wines. Our father Rocco transformed the family properties into a company in the early 1960s, consolidating the land, diversifying the vineyards and building the historic central body of the current winery.”

An unbreakable bond
Tenuta Tre Gemme is one of the largest private wineries in Abruzzo, located between 350 and 450 meters above sea level in the Terra dei Vestini, one of the most prestigious sub-zones of the DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
The vineyard, located halfway between the Adriatic coast and Mount Gran Sasso, is entirely certified organic. A strong temperature range between day and night and a constantly ventilated climate make it the perfect place to grow vines.
The company is made up of only two large plots of vineyards very close to each other. The cellar is located in the center of the largest plot.
This guarantees a very short time between the harvest and the arrival of the grapes in the cellar, and helps to maintain all the characteristics of the bunches unaltered.
The cellar, fully equipped with cutting-edge technologies, has a total capacity of 14,000 Hl.
